Upon swinging open its doors one year ago, Sweet Cheeks laid down roots as the first barbecue restaurant in Boston proper. Since then and with Faison’s take on Texas-style meats smoked with New England wood, Sweet Cheeks has earned the love of Bostonians and been named best barbecue by Boston Magazine, The Improper Bostonian, and Yankee Magazine. Forbes called its biscuits with honey butter the best in the world; Travel+Leisure named it a “Boston hot table” and Jay-Z and Kanye called up for some Southern cookin’ while in town.
This is all to say that as Sweet Cheeks turns one on November 11, 2012, Faison is going whole hog to celebrate with a special ticketed party ($50/person) that includes a Southern-style buffet menu of
Fun finger foods
Southern-Style Crab Boil
Whole roasted Pig
There will also be games like ring toss and cornhole and a cash bar where guests can throw back all-American micro-brews and cocktails and Sweet Cheeks’ signature cocktails like the Damn Yankee (weller bourbon, sapling maple liqueur, maple bitters, house brandied cherry), Rocky Top (ol' smokey apple moonshine, brandy, cider and sweet vermouth) and Angry Cheeks (Kentucky bourbon and hard apple cider).
